North Yorkshire Moors

The North Yorkshire Moors is all around our Holiday Home Park and covers 554 sq miles, but it’s not all just moorland it also covers the coastal landscape. With many villages and historic attractions to see and many activities apart from walking, there is something for everyone!

The moors have not changed much in the past 50 years, and are often used as a backdrop to British television programmes and films. The series Heartbeat and the scenes of The Hogsmeade Station in the Harry Potter movies were filmed in Goathland. Dalby Forest is also host to many forms of entertainment throughout the year including outdoor concerts.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is a great place to visit for steam buffs, or anyone who would like to travel from Whitby to Pickering, winding through valleys, moorland and villages along the way. They also run special events.

There are so many beautiful places of historic, and beautiful scenery to see, you could spend a whole week just exploring the moors. Below are some links to other places on the North Yorkshire Moors we recommend visiting.
